We are delighted to share with you that our patients gave us a rating of 90% good or better feedback on our recent ipsos MORI GP patient survey.

However, we will not be resting on our laurels, and in order to improve patient access we will be recruiting another GP in the autumn to relieve winter pressures.

Oaklands Health Centre is proud to be a safe surgery. A safe surgery is a practice that commits to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare.

Dear patients,

To try and reduce patient DNA's (Did not attend) we have added another option to our phons. (Option 6) where patients can leave a message to cancel an appointment so they do not have to wait in the phone que.

The practice has a DNA policy in place which, for patients who repeatedly fail to attend 3 appointments in a 12 months period, will results in being removed from the practice list. Appointments at Oaklands are at a premium and missed appointments can be used by another patient if we are provided with at least an hours' notice that the appointment is no longer required.

Please help us to maximise appointment availability in the future, your cooperation is very much appreciated.

Did you know we have a food donation basket in our reception?

A monthly donation will be made to the Full Life Church Food Bank, Holmfirth. The food bank has been running for several years. it runs to support anyone who is in need of social care and support.

If you require support for yourself or your family/friends you can collect food from the Full Life Church or if you cannot get out or would prefer a delivery, the Full Life Church will deliver to your home.

We are working with the "ASK FOR ANGELA" campaign to offer our patients a safe place if they are in an un-safe situation. 

Patients who feel unsafe, vulnerable or threatened can discreetly seek help by approcaching any of our staff at Oaklands and asking them for 'Angela'. This code-phrase will indicate to staff that they require help with their situation and we will work with them and immediately get them the hekp they need by appropriate specialists.
