You and Your General Practice
At Oaklands Health Centre, we strive to put patients at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care that is tailored to the individual needs of each patient. Our team works together to create a welcoming and supportive environment, where patients feel listened to, respected, and confident in the care they receive. We are open Monday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, and Tuesday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm, and you can contact us by visiting the practice, calling us, or using our website and the NHS App. When the practice is closed and you need urgent help, you can visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111 for advice, or dial 999 in an emergency. When you request an appointment, our reception team will ask for some details so we can direct you to the right care based on your needs—whether that’s a same-day or future appointment, a phone call, a text message, or advice to visit a pharmacy or other NHS service. You may see a GP, nurse, pharmacist, or another member of our healthcare team, and while we’ll try to accommodate requests for a specific professional, there may be a longer wait. Patients aged 16 and over can attend appointments on their own, while younger patients can also request to see a GP without a parent or guardian, if appropriate. We are committed to making our services inclusive and accessible: interpretation services, longer appointments, quiet spaces, wheelchair access, or information in different formats are available if needed.
If you wish to provide feedback or express a concern, your GP practice is the first point of contact. However, if you are not comfortable sharing your feedback directly with your practice, you can get in touch with NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB). The ICB is responsible for overseeing GP services in West Yorkshire, and you can find a feedback form by clicking this link:
